Thank you for your support of the 2026 Lakeside Shakespeare Festival. We set out with a big mission last summer when we announced that The World's a Stage was taking on the production of the Lakeside Shakespeare Festival: we would return the project to a two-week, two-show event. This year our team of volunteers worked to raise the $90,000 festival budget, our community stepped forward to support the work, our team of Chicago artists put two great shows together, and when it all came together this summer on Tank Hill I think you'll agree that there was magic in the air.
At the end of our season we disassemble the stage, pack up our bags, and return our little glade in the woods to the deer and foxes. We’re feeling so grateful for the new laughs, tears, and community shared in this special space this year. WHO WE ARE
The World's a Stage is a nonprofit sharing the joy of theater with Northern Michigan. We believe that theater is for everyone, and strive to create theatrical experiences that bring people together around the age-old tradition of storytelling.
WHAT WE DO
We produce the annual Lakeside Shakespeare Festival, a two-week long celebration of Shakespeare in Frankfort, Michigan featuring professional Chicago actors.
We offer (& are continually expanding our) arts education programming, ranging from summer camps to after school opportunities.
We create opportunities for local actors & audiences by combining classic texts with new takes — in unique, non-traditional venues!
